Remove an intimate image

Updated October 18, 2026

If someone shared a nude or sexual image of you on #SameNow without your consent, we will remove it — as soon as we can, and no later than 48 hours after we receive a request with the details below. You don't need a #SameNow account to ask. If you are in danger, call 911.

The short version

  • Email support@samenow.app with the subject "Intimate image removal".
  • Tell us who you are, where the image is, and that it was shared without your consent — the list below says exactly what to include.
  • Don't send us the image. Describe it and where you saw it.
  • We remove it within 48 hours, look for copies on #SameNow, and tell you when it's done.

1. What this covers

A photo of you nude or partly nude, or of a sexual act, shared on #SameNow without your consent — including one that was faked or made with AI to look like you. It doesn't matter whether you agreed to the photo being taken, or sent it to someone yourself: agreeing to that is not agreeing to it being shared.

On #SameNow, the images other people see are profile photos. Posts and conversations carry text only.

2. How to ask

Email support@samenow.app with the subject "Intimate image removal", and include:

Someone you have authorised, such as a lawyer, a parent or a friend, can ask for you. They should say they are acting for you and include the same details, signed with their own name.

If you use #SameNow, you can also report the profile from the app. Reporting blocks them too, and a report and an email together are fine.

3. What we do

4. If the person in the image is under 18

A sexual image of anyone under 18 is child sexual abuse material. Tell us, and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org or 1-800-843-5678. Don't screenshot, save or send the image to anyone, us included. NCMEC's Take It Down service, at takeitdown.ncmec.org, can help stop a nude image of someone under 18 spreading on many apps and websites. We report child sexual abuse material to NCMEC ourselves, as US law requires.

5. If the image is somewhere else

We can remove only what is on #SameNow. If an intimate image of you, as an adult, is being shared on other apps or websites, StopNCII.org can help stop it on many of them, without you sending the image to anyone.

6. If we removed your photo by mistake

Write to support@samenow.app and we'll look again.
